Comment on a revision
The cooling water system diagram, rev. B, added a cross-over valve between the sea chests. The surveyor already asked what type of valve it is. The piping foreman has a finding of his own: valve V-720-03 has no spare on board, and the spares list should say so.
What to do
- Open Documents, find R2417-720-001 Cooling water system diagram and click its number.
- On the Actual revisions tab, click the name R2417-720-001 rev. B to open the revision itself.
- Its Editing comments tab lists what has been said about this revision. Right-click in the grid → Create new Comment and select. A new row appears, empty, with your name on it.
- Double-click its Content cell. A small text editor opens — a comment can
carry formatting — and
Entermakes a new line in it, so write the finding and press the editor’s Save (disk) button. Name the valve, V-720-03, so it can be found. The comment is on this revision and starts Open.
Leave the surveyor’s comment about the cross-over valve as it is. Class raised it; class closes it.

Why the revision, and not the document
A comment answers a particular issue of a drawing. Rev. C of this diagram, when it comes, may well add the spare — and then the comment on rev. B is history rather than an open point. Filed on the document it would outlive the revision it was about; filed on the revision, it says exactly which drawing it means.
Your new comment is on your Dashboard now, and it stays there until somebody settles it.
